Third Annual Chiditarod Race

Join us for the wackiest race of the year! Modeled after the Alaskan Iditerod Race but with decorated shopping carts and costumed humans as the sled dogs, the Chiditarod involves enthuiastic teams that must make their way to various checkpoints throughout Bucktown, Wicker Park and the Ukrainian Village while collecting non-perishable food donations in their carts. As a mobile food drive, each team must collect at least 20 pounds of donated food items by the end of the race. All donations will be given to Burners without Borders and Onward Neighborhood House. To register, get the rules, the map, to volunteer or to come out and cheer on the mushers and their ‘dog’ teams to to Chiditarod Race.
