We've got another early start to our Wicker Park Bucktown Weekend Arts Guide! This week get your start on Thursday night and make it a long weekend full of art and happenings.

Volumes Bookcafe has a reading and possible performance by Chibundu Onuzo from her book Welcome to Lagos this Thursday evening from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Friday is a night full of must see artwork with some of the month's most interesting openings. Roots & Culture will hold an opening reception from 6:00pm to 9:00pm for their new exhibition Mel Cook & Molly Colleen O'Connell- Mother of the Clown with Clothilde Cook- Ascension Turns In On Itself in the Window Gallery. Heaven Gallery also has two openings for new exhibitions, Monster and The Smile Behind the Mask, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. Rainbo Club will be taking down their current show of work from Kelly Reaves and Dmitry Samarov after Friday.

Saturday once again proves to be a busy night for artwork in the neighborhood. It is the final opportunity to stop by ARC Gallery to catch Joseph Bigley: MeteoricYu Ling Huang: Dream Most Difficult, and Al-Qawi Tazal Nanavati: Bandagi, The Inward Journey before they come to a close. LVL3 will host an opening reception from 6:00pm to 10:00pm for their new show Moments in Between. Rainbo Club will have an event from 6:00pm to 10:00pm to open their new show The Serpent and the Madman: Works by Will McEvilly and Christian Campos. Gallery Cafe will also open their show Gretchen Althoff: Solaris into the Mind of a Planet with a reception from 7:30pm to 11:00pm. Myopic Books will have a poetry reading at 7:00pm from Jeffrey Cyphers Wright & Guest.

Sunday sees Beth Adler & Nancy Gardner: What I've Learned From Flower Arranging come to a close at Firecat Projects as well as a reading and book signing by Iain S. Thomas for his book I Wrote This For You from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at Volumes Bookcafe.

Ongoing exhibitions, art shows, and happenings throughout the neighborhood include Sabba Elahi showing work at Boombox Wicker Park, Counter Culture: Hidden Stories of Chicago's Past and Present at Bucktown Gallery, Brian Calvin: Pressing On and Barbara Rossi: Slippers at Corbett vs. Dempsey, Bringing Sexy Back at Jackson Junge Gallery, and David Heo: These Nights at Young Chicago Authors.
